Royal Three Counties Show – British Charolais Results
Judge: Mr Arwel Owen, Trefaldwyn
It was a strong showing of quality British Charolais cattle at the Royal Three Counties Show,
with both male and female entries impressing under the experienced eye of judge Mr Arwel
Owen.
Taking top honours was the cow Lewdy Tilly, a powerful female exhibited by Mr Will Glover.
Born in 2022 and shown in-calf, she claimed the red rosette in her class and went on to secure
the overall breed championship.
The reserve championship went to Hollywell Unclebob, a striking young bull exhibited by Mr
and Mrs M Alford of Foxhill Farm. A son of Nuthampstead Judas and out of Hollywell
Rouge, this 2023-born bull had already enjoyed championship success earlier in the season, at
Devon County and Royal Cornwall Show.
The female section saw strong entries throughout, with Caylers Umbrella, another smart
heifer from Mr Will Glover, standing top in the 2023-born class. Following closely behind
was Goldstar Une Star, a stylish entry from Mr Thor Atkinson, who stood second, while
Seawell Usha, from S C & G L Hartwright, completed the placings in third.
In the 2024-born heifer class, Foxhillfarm Victorious, shown by Mr and Mrs M Alford,
claimed the top spot. Already well-versed in the show ring, she had previously taken reserve
female honours at Devon County Show. Seawell Vellore, exhibited by P M & S M Donger,
followed in second.
Among the youngest entries, the bull or heifer calf class was won by Starlight Angel, another
quality animal from Mr Will Glover.
In the junior male section, Mr Will Glover was again in the spotlight, with Starlight Vendetta
taking first in the bull born in 2024 class. Second was Shamleys Valley from Mr P J Maher,
with Seawell Valentino (P M & S M Donger) and Cosmore Vavavoom (Mr Roger Edmunds)
taking third and fourth, respectively.
There were no entries forward in the class for cows born before 1 January 2022.
