21 Charolais bred Steers sold to an average price of £1043 per head and the average weight per head was 505kg giving an average of 206 pence per kilo. Top priced at £1195 was a 565kg steer presented by Mr G McMaster, Pomeroy, Dungannon.
15 Charolais bred Heifers sold to an average price of £885 per head and the average weight per head was 454kg giving an average of 195 pence per kilo. Mr McMaster also topped this section with his 580kg heifer making £1135.
8 Charolais bred Weanling Males sold to an average price of £783 per head and the average weight per head was 335kg giving an average of 233 pence per kilo. £935 was the top price paid for a 415kg lad from Mr G Wells, Moria.
18 Charolais bred Weanling Heifers sold to an average price of £574 per head and the average weight per head was 270kg giving an average of 213 pence per kilo. Mr K Barnes, Rock, Dungannon was the section leader with a 328kg heifer selling for £710.

12 Charolais bred Steers sold to an average price of £1050 per head and the average weight per head was 525kg making an average of 200 pence per kilo. The top priced at £1255 was a 605kg lad presented by Mr R Davidson, Dungannon, Co Tyrone.
9 Charolais bred Heifers sold to an average price of £1050 per head and the average weight per head was 460kg making an average of 195 pence per kilo. Mr T Boden, Newmills, Dungannon sold the highest priced, a 520kg heifer for £1095.
13 Charolais bred Weanling Males sold to an average price of £745 per head and the average weight per head was 326kg making an average of 228 pence per kilo. £895 was the top price paid for a 380kg bull from Mr D Barker, Stoneyford, Lisburn.
3 Charolais bred Weanling Heifers sold to an average price of £582 per head and the average weight per head was 260kg making an average of 223 pence per kilo. Topping the section was a 295kg heifer from Mr F Devlin, Coagh, Co Tyrone which sold for £605.
Cull Cows sold to a top price of £1413.05 for a 958kg Charolais from JD Leavesley.

Beef cows (202) averaged 129.5p and sold to 186p per kg for a 715kg Charolais from North Towieturner, Auchterless.
Prime heifers (31) sold to a top price of £1,419.60 gross for a 780kg Charolais from Honeybank, Auchenblae and purchased by Malcolm Allan, Stirling.
Store Heifers (317) averaged 225p to 270.3 p per kg for a pen of five 370kg Charolais from Netherton, Whitehouse and £1260 gross for a 548kg Charolais from Wartle, Lumphanan.

A very good catalogue entry of 435 strong forward stores were sold at the weekly sale whereby all classes were £60-£80 dearer on the week once again. Top overall was a superb Charolais cross from Mr BJ Harrison, Beck Farm, Wigton who received £1400.

An entry of 260 beef cattle in Ballymena resulted in a terrific trade. Beef cows sold to 190p per kilo for a 1000kg Charolais from Susan Smyth, Newtownstewart and beef bullocks sold to 193p per kilo for 660kg Charolais from G McMaster, Broughshane.
In the store sale steers averaged 219p per kilo and £1080 per head and sold to a top price of 249ppkg for 17 month old Charolais x’s from CP Holloway and £1240 for 22 month old Charolais x’s from AF James & son. Heifers averaged 2.10p per kilo and £1030 per head and sold to a top price of 247ppkg for 15 month old Charolais x’s from Messrs Watkins and £1200 for 22 month old Charolais x’s from RT Sankey & Co.

29 Young Bulls sold to an overall average of 171.8p per kilo with the top call of 217p per kilo going to a 554kg Charolais from Alec Merryman, Dronfield.
A show of 294 cast cows and 16 stock bulls were forward with all the main cow buyers in the UK being represented at Carlisle ensuring one of the dearest trade to date. M/s Fox, St Johns Kirk run of cows topped at 207.5p for a Charolais x bought by Alan Jarvis. 16 Stock Bulls were forward with M/s Vevers, High Stenries Selling the top price, a Charolais selling weighing 1155kg selling for 137.5p per kilo and totalling £1588 to Mr Kirkpatrick.
106 Store Cattle sold and the top call was £1300 for a Charolais x Cow just over 4-year-old and due March onwards to the Charolais from Peter Siddorn.
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen mart held their fortnightly sale of Cast & OTM cattle on Monday, where 61 head were forward. Topping the sale at £1620.31 was a cast Charolais bull from Messrs Scott, Low Houses, Newbiggin in Teesdale which was purchased by Mr Barker.

An entry of 480 weanlings on Friday resulted in a terrific trade. Bullocks sold to an average of £600 and to a top of £960 for a 360kg Charolais offered by RJ McNeill, Glenarm and Heifers sold to an average of £650 and a top of £1070 for a 420kg Charolais presented by R Henry, Kilwaughter.
James & Louise Davies took the top price in the steers of £1120.00 for their 543kg, 19 month old Charolais cross.
Store Bullocks sold to a top of £1,340 Gross for a pair of 692kg Charolais from Clachan, Mid-Clyth.
Bullocks (696) sold to a top price of £1,415 gross for a pen of 694kg Charolais from Birkenbower, Lumsden.
Orkney Cattle – Store Cattle (129) Bullocks sold to a top of £1350 for a 628 kg Charolais from J S Firth & Partners, Langskaill, Rousay and Heifers sold to a top of 238p per kg for a 370 kg Charolais from A Whyte, Honeysgoe, St Margarets Hope and £1210 for a 558 kg Charolais from Langskaill.

A very good entry of 400 forward store cattle were presented to a large ringside of purchasers resulting in a very good trade for all classes once again. Messrs TB Stamper & Son, Rose Farm Cockermouth sold top Charolais cross steer to £1350 and another from Messrs Hodge, The Grove, Brampton at £1300.
Five Charolais bred Steers sold to an average price of £824 per head and the average weight per head was 687kg making an average 213 pence per kilo. £870 was the top price paid for a 350kg steer presented by Mr B Meenagh, Omagh, Co Tyrone.
11 Charolais bred Heifers sold to an average price of £905 per head and the average weight per head was 460kg making an average 197 pence per kilo. Mr B Hamill, Greystone, Dungannon exhibited the top priced, a 595kg heifer which sold for £1170.
21 Charolais bred Weanling males sold to an average price of £726 per head and the average weight per head was 323kg making an average 225 pence per kilo. A 400kg lad from Mr M Sheridan, Blackwatertown Road, Co Armagh made the best money in this section, selling for £820.
23 Charolais bred Weanling heifers sold to an average price of £688 per head and the average weight per head was 316kg making an average 217 pence per kilo. Topping the section at £860 was a 340kg heifer from Mr S O’Neill, Dunagnnon, Co Tyrone.
