Charolais met a consistently strong demand selling to 7,600gns at the Northern Ireland Charolais Club’s official autumn show and sale at Dungannon on Friday 4 November. The packed ringside set what is believed to be a record average for this autumn sale with 41 bulls averaging £3,681.

“Trade met an insatiable demand for Charolais bulls from commercial suckler men following sales of Charolais cross calves that have exceeded all expectations,” says British Charolais Society chairman Martin Donaghy.

Top price of 7,600gns was paid for Kinnegohill Frankie exhibited by George King with Nelson Weir junior

Fifteen month old Kinnegohill Frankie, a Doonally Nicefor son, led the day’s trade selling for 7,600gns for his breeder N Weir, Loughgall, County Armagh to R Scott, Omagh, County Tyrone.

Next came Altnaveigh Ferdinand, a 15 month old by Moncur General and out of a Doonally New sired dam, from S and R Thompson, Newry, County Down selling for 6,800gns to the County Tyrone based Wesley Cousins, Omagh. The same breeders also had a call of 4,800gns for their Doonally New sired 15 month old Altnaveigh Falbrav selling to D Brown, Derrylester, County Fermanagh.

Gretnahouse Agenta and her 8 month old heifer calf Springfield Gentle sold for 6,500gns

A cow and calf unit from a draft of lots consigned by T Clarke, Lurgan, County Armagh led the female section.  The six year old Gretnahouse Agenta by Gretnahouse Noel was knocked down sold to P O’Kane, Cookstown, County Tyrone at 6,500gns with her eight month old heifer calf Springfield Gentle TI+ 28, SRI+ 25, by the 10,000gns Thrunton Alpha. The same buyers paid 3,500gns for Dartonhall Embrace, a maiden Knockane Collen daughter, from J A Erskine, Killylea, County Armagh.

Messrs Erskine also made 6,000gns for the reserve female champion Dartonhall Emma, a maiden heifer sired by the French bull Major, with a bid from C Richardson, Annaghmore, County Armagh.

Innisrush Freddy TI+ 51, SRI+ 40, a 19 month old Doonally New son, was taken home by W Calvin, Macosquin, Coleraine making 5,200gns for his breeders J Whyte and Sons, Portglenon, County Antrim.

Ballyvaddy Falcon the Senior Male Champion sold for 5,000gns

Two lots sold to 5,000gns. First came the supreme male champion Ballyvaddy Falcon, a 19 month old sired by Fury Action from W McVey, Ballymena, County Antrim and secured by A Douglas, Limavady, Londonderry. The same breeder also sold 19 month old Ballyvaddy Flynn by Ballyvaddy Utopia to J S Robinson, Newtownstewart, County Tyrone for 3,600gns.

The 14 month old junior male and reserve supreme champion Kiltybane Francis, a Kiltybane Baron son made 5,000gns for his breeders, S and A Bellew, Newry, County Down and going home with Londonderry-based  J and J McKeagney, Maghera. Messrs Bellew also sold Francis’ 16 month old paternal half-brother Kiltybane Fertilizer for 3,400gns to R O’Neill, Dunloy, County Antrim.

Tedd Ferdinand, a 14 month old by the 55,000gns Thrunton Voldemort from S Hunter, Irvinestown, County Fermanagh, was secured for 4,800gns by P Campbell, Draperstown, Londonderry.

Rathkeeland France made 4,200gns

A call of 4,200gns was made three times. Rathkeeland France, a 20 month old by Simpsons Gregg and out of the imported 2002 Magny Cours champion Rathkeeland Oncteuse, was purchased from breeders R Crawford, Maguiresbridge, County Fermanagh by A Semple, Dungiven, Londonderry. The same price was paid for Ballyoak Felix, a 17 month old Dunlon Ulick son, by J McDonnell, Glenarn, County Antrim to his breeders S and A McKenna, Clogher, County Tyrone. Drumacritten Frankco TI+ 25, SRI+ 21, a 16 month old by the 10,000gns Perth champion Thrunton Bonjovi from W and M Nelson, Rossleagh, County Fermanagh, was also knocked down sold for 4,200gns to D McPartland, Camlough, Newry Down.

Reserve Senior Male Champion Mountain Frank made 4,100gns

The reserve senior male champion, 19 month old Mountain Frank, by Lisbawn Valour and entered by L Johnston, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, achieved a bid of 4,100gns from T Grant, Donaghmore, Newry Down.

Drummeer Finlay, TI+ 40, SRI+ 38, sold for 4,000gns. This 17 month old Oldstone Egbert son, bred by E Morrison, Maguirebridge, County Fermanagh was purchased by F West, Newtonbutler, County Fermanagh.

A call of 3,800gns secured Crannon Frank, a 17 month old by Prime Roberto, for Downpatrick based C Maxwell, Clough from his breeder M Donaghy, Dungannon, County Tyrone.

Female Champion Ballyreagh Eilsa went on to sell for 3,600gns

Two lots were purchased for 3,600gns. Female champion Ballyreagh Eilsa, a Fury Action maiden heifer from S and P Somerville, Ballygawley, County Tyrone was claimed by B Quinn, Dungannon, County Tyrone. Back with the bulls, class winner Killadeas Falcon TI+ 32, SRI+ 23, a 20 month old by Dunlon Ulick from S and D Bothwell, Ballinamallard, County Fermanagh, was purchased by J Kennedy, Lillaloo, Londonderry. The same breeders also sold 14 month old Killadeas Fergus, another Ulick son, for 3,500gns to R Wilson, Ballyward, Castlewelan.

A bid of 3,500gns was also made for Mullinveigh Fanta TI+ 30, SRI+ 28 from A Quigley, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. This 15 month old Allanfauld Vagabond son was taken home by S McMullan, Bellaghy, Londonderry.

Class winner Tonaghmore Famed TI+ 26, SRI+ 22, a 15 month old sired by Mullaghbane Topline, made 3,400gns for H Crawford, Fintona, County Tyrone after a call from R Fulton, Dungiven, County Derry.

Charolais in demand at Dungannon peaking at 8,200gns

Corrick Firestone, the day’s leader at 8,200gns and reserve senior champion

Charolais bulls met a strong demand selling to a top of 8,200gns and with 27 lots trading to average £2,907 in Dungannon on Monday 30 May at the NI Charolais Club’s spring show and sale.

 Sale leader at 8,200gns was the senior male and overall reserve champion, the 16 month old Corrick Firestone TI+13, SRI +21, a son of the 55,000gns Thrunton Voldemort and out of a Coolnaslee bred cow.  Bred and exhibited by Cecil McIlwaine, Newtownstewart, Tyrone, Firestone sold to John McBride, Plumbridge, Tyrone. 

 Next at 5,200gns was Mountain Eddie, an 18 month old from Liam Johnston, Enniskillen, Fermanagh. Sired by Lisbawn Valour and out of a Derrygiff dam, he was knocked down sold to Thomas Grant, Donaghmore, Newry.

 A bid of 4,800gns secured the junior male and overall supreme champion, the 13 month old Moorlough Falcon TI +28, SRI +26, for George Wallace, Florencecourt, Enniskillen.  An Oldstone Egbert son, he was out of a homebred cow from James McBride, Strabane, Tyronne.

 The 15 month old Tonaghmore Firestone TI +28, SRI +31 changed hands at 4,100gns to the Devlin Brothers, Coagh.  Bred by Harold Crawford, Fintona, Tyrone, he was by Mullaghbane Topline and out of a homebred dam.

 Corcreevy Fyfe TI +34, SRI +38, a 15 month old by Doonally New and out of a Glencardon bred dam from Desmond Orr, Fivemiletown, Tyrone, was bid to 3,600gns by James Kane, Doagh, Antrim.

 Mullanary Edddally TI +19, SRI +21, a 21 month old from C Daly, Dungannon, Tyrone made 3,250gns to David McIlwaine, Newtownstewart, Tyrone. A Bova Banker son, he was out of Oscar Samantha who goes back to Derrygiff lines and earlier in the day was awarded the reserve senior title.

 Next at 3,200gns was Aughafad Fantastic, a 16 month old by Gwenog Banker and out of a Tullylagan cow. Bred and exhibited by RH Sinnamon, Pomeroy, Dungannon, he sold to Robert Watson, Augher, Tyrone.

 Two lots shared a 3,100gns bid. First to go was Drummeer Fido TI +17, SRI +32, a 16 month old by Killadeas Jack and out of a homebred dam from E Morrison, Maguiresbridge, Tyrone. The buyer was M Hamilton, Castlederg, Tyrone.

 The second 3,100gns call was made by Brian Kerlin, Donemana TI+16, SRI +23, for Bellarena Fitzroy from Mark McConway, Limavady, Derry. A Thrunton Voldemort son, he was out of a Tongahmore bred cow and secured the reserve junior male title.

 Heifers also met a strong demand selling to a top of 3,500gns for the reserve female champion, the rising two year old Derryharney Edna TI +19, SRI +20. Sired by the 10,000gns Perth champion Thrunton Bonjovi, she was out of a homebred dam from Harold Stubbs,  Lisnaskea, Fermanagh and sold to M Murphy, Ballynahinch.

 Two lots made 3,000gns. First was the female champion, Ovill Emerald TI +20, SRI +20, a 21 month old by Lyonsdemesne Tzar and out of a homebred dam. Bred and exhibited by the O’Kane Brothers, Dungiven, Derry she went home with B Reavey, Newry. Minutes later the second 3,000gns call was made by Sam Flanagan, Armagh for Drumlone Floss TI+35, SRI +39, a 16 month old by Fury Action and out of a Ballygarris bred dam going back to Doonally New. Floss was bred and exhibited by Kenny Veitch, Lisbellaw, Fermanagh.

Solid demand for Dungannon Charolais peaking to 5,200gns

Charolais bulls met a solid demand from commercial producers selling to a top of 5,200gns in Dungannon on Friday 4 March at the breed’s NI Club spring show and sale.

 “This sale attracted a consistent trade underpinned by commercial suckler men confident they were investing in a bull which will leave calves that will outstrip any other crosses in weight and conformation, and subsequent profitability,” commented NI Charolais Club chair, Sandra Cochrane.

Blossom Eoghan, The Overall Champion and day's leader at 5,200gns

 Sale topper at 5,200gns was the senior male and overall champion, Blossom Eoghan a rising two year old by Doonally New and out of a Knockanbawn dam by Enfield Plexus. Consigned by L Richardson and Sons, Maguiresbridge, Fermanagh, he was knocked down sold to G Wallace, Enniskillen.

 The same vendors were in the money again at 4,200gns when they sold their first class prize winner, Hillviewfarm Egbert to S and M Black, Carnlough. Sired by Allanfauld Vagabond, this 18 month old was out of a Coolnaslee cow going back to Derrygiff Mills. The Richardsons offered another 18 month old Vagabond son, Hillviewfarm Elmo for 3,100gns to N McFarland, Sixmilecross. The same 3,100gns price tag accompanied their Hillviewfarm Errol, an 18 month old first prize winner by Oldstone Egbert to J Brown, Newtown Butler, while their Hillviewfarm Evis, a 21 month old Killadeas Jack son made 3,800gns to W McCloskey, Dungiven.

Corryglass Excell at 4,500gns

 The day’s second top call of 4,500gns was paid by K Farrell, Filemiletown for Corryglass Excel, a 16 month old first class winner from Brian Phair, Letterbreen, Enniskillen. Excel was by Pirate and out of a homebred dam going back to Doonally New.

 Earlier on Trevor Phair collected the intermediate championship with Brogher Echo TI +34, SRI +37 and he sold for 4,200gns to A Wilson, Ballymena. This 18 month old was by Pirate and out of Brogher bred cow by Doonally New.

 Two lots sold for 4,000gns each. First to go was Lisnadill Egbert, a rising two year old from GC King, Lisnadill, Armagh to L Buchanan, Strabane. A Nelson son, he was out of a Mullagh bred cow by Brampton Justwilliam.

 John McGrath, Dromore, Omagh offered the second 4,000gns entry, Drumconnis Edward to R Watters, Stewartstown. This 19 month old was by the 25,000gns Goldies Unbeatable and out of a homebred cow by Roundshill Taurus.

 Brantry, Dungannon based breeder, M McVeigh sold his 17 month old Gort Eoin for 3,800gns to M McLaughlin, Cushendall. Sired by Fieldview Budd, he was out of a Roxtown bred dam by Doonally New.

 Next at 3,500gns was the reserve intermediate champion, Woodpark Embassador TI +27, SRI +29, a 17 month old by the 19,000gns reserve junior Perth champion, Corrie Alan and out of a homebred dam going back to Skidoo lines. Bred and exhibited by Will Short, Beragh, Omagh, he was knocked down sold to P McEvoy, Kilkeel. Earlier on, the same breeder offered Woodpark Eiger TI +32, SRI +35, a 21 month old Rumsden Eiger son, for 3,200gns to C Shaw, Carryduff.

The reserve junior male title went to Ramrad Eager, a 15 month old from RDA Morrow, Coleraine, Derry selling for 3,400gns to B Thompson, Newtownards. An Agharooskey Victor son, he was out of a homebred dam by Killadeas Outran. Minutes later another Victor son from the same breeder, this time the day’s junior champion, the 14 month old Ramrad Freddie made 3,300gns to P Gormley, Drumquin.

 Another 3,300gns call secured the rising two year old Killadeas Ezra TI +28, SRI +31 for T Hamill, Downpatrick for father and son team, Stuart and David Bothwell, Ballinamallard, Fermanagh. A Dunlon Ulick son he was out of an Oldstone Egbert sired homebred dam. Another same age Ulick son, this time Killadeas Eric TI +26, SRI +29 sold for 3,200gns top G Rankin, Bready.

 Beechdale Ecossais, a 19 month old by Dartonhall Brandy collected the reserve senior championship for G Donnelly, Ardmore, Derry and made 3,200gns to P Mullan, Garvagh. Another 3,200gns was made, this time from J McDowell, Magherafelt for Riverview Extreme, a 20 month old Doonally New son from N Hicks, Enniskillen, Fermanagh.

A packed ring-side reflecting the surge in interest in Charolais cattle was reflected in a solid trade, peaking at 6,600gns in Dungannon on Friday 5 November at the NI Club’s official autumn show and sale.

  Next highest price at 5,000gns was the reserve male champion, Derryharney Elvis, a 21 month old by the 10,000gns Perth champion, Thrunton Bonjovi and out of a Loughside cow, by Chesham Flint. Bred and exhibited by Harold Stubbs, Lisnaskea, Elvis was knocked down sold to H Wilson, Ballymena, Antrim.
Dartonhall Exeden, a 17 month old Knockane Collen son and out of a homebred dam from John Erskine, Killylea, Armagh attracted a bid of 4,300gns from WM Jeffers, Coleraine. Minutes before, Dartonhall Excellent, another 17 month old from the same breeder, this time by Ashleigh Victor, was secured for 3,000gns by K McManus, Enniskillen.

The second 3,600gns bid was made by H Lennox, Moneymore, Magherafelt for Cuillmore Elton, a Keane bred 18 month old by Pirate and out of a Doonally bred dam from Victor Bothwell, Eniskillen. The same vendor offered another 18 month old Pirate son, this time the McGovern bred Crossane Eoin at 3,200gns to B McNamee, Sixmilecross, Omagh.

Four more lots were secured for 3,000gns. First through the ring was Toberlane Ellison TI+24, SRI+28, a 21 month old Doonally New son and out of a Derrygiff Mills homebred dam from Will Causey, Cookstown, Tyrone to S McGorrian, Downpatrick.

Next at 3,000gns was the 19 month old Ballyoak Euro TI+24, SRI+29, a Dunlon Ulick son bred by S and A McKenna and offered by father and son team, Stuart and David Bothwell, Ballinamallard, Fermanagh. Ballyvaddy Eldorado, another 19 month old this time by Ballyvaddy Utopia from William McVey, Carnlough, Ballymena followed shortly at 3,000gns to W Hanna, Ballymoney. The final 3,000gns call came from A Butler, Callycastle, Antrim for Burnside Eldarado, a 17 month old by the 16,000gns Balmyle Vagabond from Brian and William McAllister, Kells, Ballymena.

At 2,600gns, Harold Crawford, Fintona, Tyrone sold Tonaghmore Faith, a 10 month old heifer by Mullaghbane Topline and out of a Maerdy dam to M Irwin, Fintona.

Charolais bulls met a bouyant trade peaking at 4,600gns in Dungannon on Monday 31 May at the NI Charolais Club’s May show and sale.

Sale topper at 4,600gns was Ratoary Evander, the day’s reserve junior, reserve male and overall reserve supreme champion. A 15 month old by Dartonhall Brandy and out of a Beechdale bred cow by Rossy Pride, he was bred and exhibited by Sean McGovern, Clogher and the buyer was Cloughey Farm, Newtownards.

Next at 4,400gns was the 14 month old Fury Action son, Mountjoy Echo who led the way throughout above Evander, by taking the junior and overall male titles and finally going on to take the overall supreme award. Bred by Desmond McAskie, Omagh, he was knocked down sold to H Blaney, Ballymena.

The Senior Champion, Stranagone Edd at 3,500gns

A bid of 3,500gns secured the senior champion, Stranagone Edd, a 16 month old from Robert McWilliams, Swatragh, to J Mullan, Pomery. Sired by Oldstone Egbert, he was out of a Bevingford bred cow going back to Mowbraypark Napolean. 

Two lots were bid to 3,100gns each. First to go was Lisleitrim Denver, a 20 month old Pirate son and out of an Anneskeagh dam. Bred by Dominic Bellew, Newry, Denver went home with Liam McElroy, Ardboe.

The second 3,100gns bid was made by Arthur Kelly, Carrickmore for Drumfin Democrate from Basil Buchanan, Hillsborough. This 19 month old was sired by Moorefield Viper and out of a homebred dam going back to Dolland lines.

First Class winner, Tonaghmore Danny at 3,000gns

Three entries shared a 3,000gns price tag. Harold Crawford Fintona offered his 20 month old Tonaghmore Danny, a Tonaghmore Augusto son and out of a Knockhill bred dam to B O’Mally, Newry.

Next to sell for 3,000gns was Toberlane Designerbull, an 18 month old by Allanfauld Superscot and out of a Balthaynock Nougat sired homebred dam. Designerbull was bred and exhibited by William Causey, Cookstown and sold to Alan Ferguson, Aughnacloy.

The final 3,000gns call was made by J McCrea, Strabane for Stragnagone Darragh, a rising two year old by Roundshill Tarus and out of a Glenleary bred cow by Brampton Embark from Robert McWilliams.

A bid of 2,800gns secured Aughafad Doolittle for Strangmore Farms, Moy. Bred by Henry Sinnamon, Pomery, this 20 month old was a Burradon Talisman son and out of an Oldstone Egbert sired homebred dam.

Three lots were bid to 2,700gns each. First to go was the reserve senior champion, Corrick Douglas who was within the breed’s top 15% with a Terminal Sire Index +29 and Self Replacing Index +32. Bred by Cecil McIlwaine, Newtownstewart, and purchased by D McCall, Armagh, Douglas was a 17 month old Doonally New son and out of a homebred cow going back to Moorlough Palo.

Next at 2,700gns was Pubble Edward, a 14 month old Enfield Plexus son and out of a Roundhill Rocky sired homebred cow. Bred by Andrew Gallagher, Newtownstewart, he was knocked down sold to Michael Quinn, Cookstown.

The third 2,700gns call was made by J McQuistan, Ballymoney for Mullaghbane Elton from Fred Elliott, Florencecourt. Sired by Mullaghbane Cliff, this 13 month old was out of a homebred cow by Allanfauld Superscot.

The female section was led at 4,200gns by Moorlough Diana TI +33, SRI +38, a two year old heifer by Doonally New and out of a homebred dam going back to Derrygiff Mills. Bred and exhibited by James McBride, Strabane, Diana secured the supreme female championship before selling to Sydney Rea, Ballyclare.

Drumfin Dynamite owned by B & J Buchanan, Hillsborough received the Supreme Champion and sold at 4700gns, with handler Barney O’Kane and John Henning Northern Bank sponsor of the event.

Reserve Champion was Drummeer Donald, son of Burradon Talisman,  owned by E Morrison Maguiresbridge, sold for 7800gns to  Cecil McElwaine Newtownstewart

Female Champion Ferryroad Dora owned by P & M O’Kane Bellaghy, fetched an impressive 3700gns and was sold to John Watson, Portadown pictured with handler Barney O’Kane and John Henning Agriculture Manager Northern Bank who sponsored the event.

Intermediate Champion and Reserve male Champion - Brogher Dandy ET owned and handled by T Phair Enniskillen, sold for 5000gns to S Taylor Belfast.

 

Intermediate Reserve Champion and winner of its class; Innisrush diplomat ET, owned by J Whyte, reached 2800gns and was purchased by J Kelly Limavady.

Charolais bulls met a bumper trade peaking at 7,800gns with 90% clearance and a breed centre record of 57 entries sold to average £2,962 in Dungannon on Saturday 6 March at the NI Charolais Club’s spring show and sale. 

The day’s leader at 7,800gns was the 17 month old Drumeer Donald who 24 hours earlier had been placed reserve junior champion by judge, Cyril Millar, Coleraine. A Burradon Talisman son and out of a homebred cow by Doonally New, Donald was bred and exhibited by Edwin Morrison, Maguirebridge and sold to Noel Mcllwaine, Plumbridge, Omagh.

 Next at 5,100gns was the senior champion Dartonhall Dougal, a rising two year old from John Erskine, Killylea. Sired by Corrie Alan and out of a Lyonsdemesne bred cow, the buyer was David Erskine, Crosses, Monaghan. Another entry in the money from the same exhibitor at 4,400gns was Dartonhall Dieogo, a 17 month old Ashleigh Victor son to Gerard Mullan, Plumbridge, Omagh.

Two entries shared a 5,000gns price tag. First to go was the intermediate and overall reserve supreme champion, Brogher Dandy from Trevor Phair, Enniskillen to S Taylor, Ligoniel, Belfast. This 18 month old was by Sang-d’Or and out of a homebred cow going back to Oldstone Egbert.

 Hollyvale Diego attracted the day’s second 5,000gns bid from Billy Glazebrook, Strathaven, Lanark. Bred by Ian Newell, Portadown, this 16 month old Ashleigh Victor son was out of the 4,200gns Dungannon female champion, Brogher Beverley who goes back to Moorlough Palo.

 Next at 4,700gns was the junior and overall supreme champion, Drumfin Dynamite, a 17 month old who was within the breed’s top 10% with a Terminal Index (TI) of +35 and Self Replacing Index (SRI) +38. Bred and exhibited by Basil Buchanan, Hillsborough this Malicieux son was out of Drumfin Blanche and sold to M and S Maguire, Maguiresbridge. Another Malicieux son from the same breeder, this time the 18 month old Drumfin Diablo made 3,600gns to Pat Fullen, Magherafelt.

A bid of 4,500gns secured Innisrush Dante for John McCloskey, Claudy, Derry. Bred by John Whyte and Sons, Portglenone, Dante was an 18 month old sired by the Balmoral champion, Ballindalloch Ufo and out of an Artresnahan sired cow going back to Drummeer Oscar.

 First class prize winner, Killadeas Darius made 4,100gns to Colin Montgomery, Killough, Downpatrick. Bred and exhibited by father and son team, David and Stuart Bothwell, Ballinamallard, Darius was by Dunlon Ulick and out of Brampton Embark sired cow. Three more Dunlon Ulick sons were in the money for the Bothwells. Killadeas Dermot, a rising two year old made 4,000gns to James Buchanan, while two 20 month olds each commanded 3,000gns - Killadeas Depart went to G Thompson, Kesh, and Killadeas Dean sold to K Dickson, Downpatrick.

 Mullaghbane Elvis, a 13 month old youngster secured the day’s second 4,000gns bid from H Marquess, Muckamore, Antrim. This first class prize winner bred and exhibited by Fred Elliott, Florencecourt was by Mullaghbane Carlos and out of a homebred bred by Doonally Nicefor.

 Mountjoy Dean, an 18 month old by Fury Action and out of a homebred cow by Doonally New from Desmond McAskie, Omagh made 3,800gns to D McAfee, Bushmills.

Other entries in the money included Stranagone Dick, a 17 month old Oldstone Egbert son and out of a Kye bred dam from R McWilliams, Swatragh, Derry for 3,300gns to Messrs Thompson, Tempo. James McBride, Strabane sold his Moorlough Danny, a 15 month old Fury Action son at 3,000gns to Richard Duffin, Ballymena.

 Leading female entry at 3,700gns was the section champion, Ferryroad Dora, a 21 month old Allanfauld Superscot daughter and out of a homebred dam by Roundhill Ohoh from Paul and Marie O’Kane, Bellaghy. She was knocked down sold to John Watson, Portadown.

 Two lots were bid to 3,000gns each. First to go was the reserve female champion, Drumlone Dixie, another 21 month old, this time by the 14,000gns Goldies Usher from Kenny Veitch Lisbellaw to Sydney Rea, Ballyclare. The second 3,000gns lot was Basil Buchanan’s Drumfin Delilah, an 18 month old heifer by Dovea Gin Tonic to John McKeever, Kilmore, Armagh. At 2,500gns Kenny Veitch sold Drumlone Candy, a 17 month old by Harestone Tadorne and out of a homebred dam by Brigadoon Ulsterman.
