Kinclune Director, the day's Champion and leader at 10,000gns

Reserve Champion, Blelack Dazzler at 9,000gns
Charolais established a new benchmark at Thainstone on Wednesday 24 February
where the centre’s annual spring show and sale records were broken with a
top call of 10,000gns and second highest price of 9,000gns. Both bids
eclipsed the previous 8, 600gns centre record for Kinclune Commando achieved
exactly 12 months earlier.
Judge, Mathew Milne, of Llanbryde,
Elgin,
found his champion in Kinclune Director who went on to command the day’s
leading 10,000gns bid. This 20 month old was by the 11,000gns Moyness
Vichy
and out of a homebred dam going back to Derryharney Peter from Jock Wilson,
Glenkindie, Alford. He was knocked down sold to G McBain, Cabrach, Huntley.
Jock
Wilson
offered four more Moyness Vichy sons. First at 8,000gns was the 21 month old
Kinclune Diamond whose homebred dam was by the 14,000gns Caylers Solomon. He
sold to B Mackie and Son, Rhynie, Huntley.
Two
Vichy
sons attracted a 3,400gns price tag. First was the 21 month old Kinclune
Deamon and out of a homebred cow by Derryharney Peter to W and L Muir,
Harray, Orkney. The second 3,400gns bid, this time from P Ferries, Lumphanan,
Banchory, was made for Kilclune Deputy, a 19 month old whose dam went back
to Killadeas Legend.
The final
Vichy
son from Jock Wilson at 3,200gns was Kinclune Danny, a 21 month old out of a
Killadeas Legend sired homebred cow. The buyer was GW Arnott, Tyrie,
Fraserburgh.
The day’s second highest call at 9,000gns went to the reserve
champion, Blelack Dazzler from father and son team, Neil and Graeme Massie,
Dinnet, Aboyne to John Gordon, Wellheads, Huntley. This rising two year old
was by Solitude Asp and out of a Blelack bred dam.
Blelack Drake, a 23 month old from the Massies secured a 4,000gns bid
from J Farquhar, Logie Coldstone, Aboyne.
Drake was by the 12,000gns Coolnaslee Adversary and out of a homebred
cow by the 15,000gns Maerdy Oxo.
Highest entry at 5,500gns from Neil Barclay, Crathes, Banchory was
Harestone Detonator to G and J Rattray, Craigievar, Alford. This 21 month
old was by Harestone Rotobaga and out of a Maerdy Neptune sired homebred
dam.
Next at 4,500gns was Tullo Dynamite, a two year old from GM Barclay
and Sons, Garvock, Laurencekirk to J Young, Corse, Alford. A Balmyle
Addition son, Dynamite was out of a Corrie bred dam by Gretnahouse Noel.
A bid of 3,600gns secured Elgin Dirk for J and L Shepherd, Echt,
Westhill. Bred and exhibited by the Milne family, Llanbryde,
Elgin,
Dirk was a 21 month old by Gower Versace and out of a Foxacre bred cow by
Balmyle Tangle.
T Smith and Son, Whitehouse, Alford paid 3,400gns for Elick Diego
from Michael Massie, Auchnagatt, Ellon. This rising two year old was by
Coolnaslee Adversary and out of a Blelack sired homebred cow.

Charolais Thainstone Record Breakers
John Wilson KINCLUNE
COMMANDO (S. Caylers Solomon) set a Thainstone Centre record price of
8,600gns, and the Charolais breed sale set a record average price of £5,180
for the 12 bulls sold.
The top priced bull was purchased by G McBain, Ardlewise, Carbrach, Huntly.
Kinclune also purchased the breed champion with the 6,800gns KINCLUNE
CLASSIC. Sired by Moyness Vichy, he was purchased by Messrs Mackie,
Milton of North, Huntly.
At the same price Mike Massie sold his first prize winning bull, ELRICK
COLOSSUS (s. Blelack Roger) to R & E Chapman, West Cochmuir, Strichen.
Wilson and Geraldine Strachan won the Reserve Championship with BALMAUD
COMMANDER (s.Maerdy Tank) and he was cashed for 5,500gns to W & V Leith,
North Crannock, Crossroads, Keith.

The day's Champion, Kinclune Buster made 5,000gns
Charolais led the trade at 8,500gns in Thainstone on Wednesday 27 February at the breed society’s official fixture at the Royal Northern spring show and sale. Furthermore, Charolais sold 19 lots averaging £3,360, the highest number for the highest average at the multi-breed event.
Leading lot at 8,500gns, Kinclune Barker
Sale leader at 8,500gns was Kinclune Barker, a rising two year old by the 14,000gns Caylers Solomon and out of a homebred cow. Both Barker’s sire and dam went back to Killadeas lines. Bred and exhibited by John Wilson, Glenkindie, Alford, Aberdeen he was secured by J Baxter, Banff.
Kinclune Bruno at 7,800gns
Bulls from John Wilson’s Kinclune herd dominated the trade with a total of five lots selling to average £5,649. They included three more Solomon sons, with the 20 month old
Kinclune Bruno, out of a Ravensworth sired homebred cow, taking the day’s second leading call at 7,800gns from FJ Leslie, Huntley.
Following on at 5,000gns was the day’s champion, Kinclune Buster, another 20 month old, this time out of a homebred cow by Killadeas Legend. Buster went home with Messrs Glass, Aldford.
Finally, two Kinclune lots shared a 2,800gns call. Kinclune Benny, a June 2006 born Solomon son was secured by Messrs Pertrie, Torphines, while
Kinclune Blaze, a 20 month old by Maerdy Rumbull was knocked down sold for 2,800gns to F Birse, Sauchen.
Other leading entries included Neil Barclay’s (Crathes, Banchory) Harestone Batman for 4,400gns to C Addison, Methlick. A rising two year old Mortimers Meridian son, he was out of a Dunure sired homebred cow. Mr Barclay also offered at 3,000gns the 22 month old Harestone Buccaneer, a Rumsden Samurai son and out of a homebred cow by Maerdy Neptune. The buyer was C Maxwell, Aberdeen.
Next at 3,400gns was Blelack Blockbuster, a rising two year old by the 25,000gns Perth senior champion, Thrunton Socrates. Bred by father and son team, Neil and Graeme Massie, Dinnet, Aboyne he sold to PA and P Duncan, Aberdeen.
Forglen Bellringer, a 21 month old by Glassel Camelot from Eric Mutch, Forglen, Banff, commanded a 3,200gns bid from W Beverley, Rhynie.
The day’s second 3,000gns price tag went to JA and AM Gauld’s (Dufftown, Keith),
Conval Bestman, a two year old by Mortimers Unique and out of an Inverlochy Resolve sired homebred dam. Bestman was knocked down sold to D Taylor, Aberdeen.
