CHAROLAIS AT BORDERWAY AGRI EXPO
A busy British Charolais stand drew much attention throughout the day The British Charolais Cattle Society stand at the Borderway Agri Expo event held on the 28th October 2011 drew much attention from the visitors to this prestigious event. Some excellent cattle were on display from the following beef farmers who are recognised in the captioned photographs, and the ladies from the Border Charolais club certainly pulled out the stops by serving in excess of 300 visitors with refreshments. "GUESS THE WEIGHT COMPETITION" for the combined weight of the four spring born Charolais heifer calves was won by Mike Cook from Ulverston. The correct weight of the four calves was 1291kgs.
Donald MacPherson took top honours in class four at Agri Expo held at Carlisle recently, with the Charolais steer "Golden Delicious". Sired by Tullygarley Alibaba, this October 2010 born entry was bred at the Jalex enterprise of James Alexander, Randalstown.

Messrs McNee provided a Sim/Luing cow with spring born steer calf sired by Balthayock Tamarind
Fred Murray provided two pens of cattle sired by Thrunton Colorado. The first pen was of spring born heifers calves with the second pen of finished heifers destined for the live/dead competition at the Scottish Winter Fair
