Charolais bulls sold to a top of 5,000gns at Holsworthy on Wednesday 25 April at the South West Clubs annual show and sale.

Sale leader at 5,000gns was Balbithan Flint TI +50, SRI +51, a 16 month old by the homebred Balbithan Bilbo and out of a homebred dam, both of which went back to Inverlochy lines.

Bred and exhibited by Mr and Mrs Andrew White, Worth Matravers, he sold to RL Toop, Yelverton.

Next at 4,500gns, Furrydance Fieldmarshal TI +40, SRI +37, a two year old from CR, IE and A-M White, Helston, Sired by Maerdy Naser and out of a Billingley dam, he travelled to Wales with AG Powell, Knighton.

First lot in the ring at 4,000gns was the rising two year old, Lovistone Freddie TI +43, SRI +39, a Gower Blingbling son and out of a homebred dam going back to Ballindalloch UFO. Bred and exhibited by Brian Nancekivell, Okehampton, he sold to B Clarke, Higher Aston, Exeter.

Two Bailea Ulysse sons came under the hammer sold from Brian Jones, Heol Senni, Brecon. First to go at 3,600gns was the 20 month old Bailea Falstaff to RT Barrow, Bratton Fleming, Barnstaple, while his stable mate, Bailea Filip, a 21 month old made 3,000gns to P and J Horton, Dulverton.

A bid of 3,300gns secured Polgoda Golden TI +45, SRI +44 for R Toms, Cheriton Bishop, Exeter. Bred and exhibited by DR and B Stacey, St Austell, this 13 month old was by the 7,000gns Ravensworth Damien and out of a Penhargard bred dam.

Averages: 10 bulls £3,543.75
