Harviestoun Lollipop Supreme Champion Perth 1999
Manager: Ian Spence 01259 752218
The Harviestoun Herd of Charolais cattle was started by Mrs Lucy Poett, grand daughter of the Late J.E. Kerr of Harviestoun, a world renowned breeder of Aberdeen Angus, Shorthorns, Clydesdale Horses, Hackneys and Shetlands (amongst others!). The herd is run in Scotland on an extensive system in the good grass growing area of the Southern Ochil Hills between Stirling and Kinross.
The Herd is managed by Mr Ian Spence who together with Mrs Lucy Poett has built it up to it’s present size of about 65 Breeding cows and their followers. The Herd is usually represented at all the major shows in Scotland with great success. The young bulls are marketed through the Perth Bull sales in the autumn and Spring at United Auctions in Perth, and at the Harrison and Hetherington sales at Carslisle. There are usually young bulls and heifers for sale privately in addition to these sales.
The Herd is fully Signet Recorded, and the herd average in the top 25% of EBV analysis in the March 2001 summary. The Herd also has three females from our foundation stock in the ‘National Dam Summary’ :
Rushmore Emerald
Airton Dawn
Mortimers Evelyn
